HIFK has reached an agreement with Sakari Tukiainen. Tukiainen has played for i.a. Thisted FC from Denmark, FC Flora from Estonia and also the familiar RoPs from our domestic league. He is a natural center-forward who has managed to score consistently in all of his respectful clubs. In 162 professional appearances he has scored a tremendous 81 goals.
HIFK is a familiar club for the new striker.
– I follow a lot of the domestic league in Finland, so I am familiar with the club. I know it is a traditional organization with a passionate fanbase and I can’t wait for the opportunity to play for them. There would have been other opportunities for me to play abroad, but for this
moment it felt right to return back to Finland. One of the main reasons for choosing HIFK was to get the opportunity to play in my hometown of Helsinki. A lot of my family and friends also live here, so they can also watch me play and this way I get more support. I feel like the club is moving in the right direction and while discussing with the club owner and director of sports, I knew that it was the right decision to come here.
The fans can expect a lot of heart from Sakari and also a burning sensation to score goals.
– I am a versatile and goal hungry player. I have a high work ethic and I give it my all out on the field. I want to win battles and I’m lethal inside the box. As a person I get along well with everyone, I’m relaxed and nice, but also determined. I have goals that I plan to
achieve.
The goals that Tukiainen set are clear.
– The goals I have set are the same as the clubs. I will give it my best out there always and do everything I can to help the team win, in my case that means scoring goals. That is what I have come here to do.
The new striker also has a message to the fans.
– I want to thank the fans already in advance for their support to the club. I will give everything to this club and to you, the fans for as long as I play here. I hope I can make you all proud.
